Coding Mode & Pattern
Coding Mode determines which axis the Coding Pattern is applied to - columns or rows. When looking at a crossing, the pattern determines if the \ strand is over or under.
Column Coding
Section titled “Column Coding”Turks Head, Herringbone, and Pineapple knots are examples of column coding. This knot is using OOUU Column Coding:

Row Coding
Section titled “Row Coding”Gaucho Fan knots are an example of row coding. This knot is using OOUU Row Coding:

Coding Pattern
Section titled “Coding Pattern”Many knots use a simple repeating pattern - for example, a Turks Head uses OU Column Coding. You can use more complex repeating patterns or a fully coded pattern where each row or column is defined. To learn more see:
