Coding Mode & Pattern

Coding Mode determines which axis the Coding Pattern is applied to - columns or rows. When looking at a crossing, the pattern determines if the \ strand is over or under.

Many knots use a simple repeating pattern - for example, a Turks Head uses OU Column Coding. You can use more complex repeating patterns or a fully coded pattern where each row or column is defined. To learn more see:
