At Bight Forge, we believe privacy should be the default. We designed this site to be as lightweight and untracking as possible. We do not use Google Analytics, we do not follow you across the internet, and we do not require you to create an account.

This Privacy Policy explains the very limited ways data is handled when you visit our website, purchase a single knot export, or buy a knot collection from our store.

1. Data We Collect (Which is Almost Nothing)

Because we do not have user accounts or subscriptions, we do not directly collect, store, or process your personal information (like your name or email address) on our own servers. When you generate a custom knot on our site, that process happens entirely within your browser's temporary memory. Once you close the tab, your specific configuration is gone. For pre-made knot collections, the files are delivered directly to you without requiring an account creation on our end.

2. Payment Processing & Our Merchant of Record

To sell our digital products globally, we use Paddle as our Merchant of Record.

When you purchase a single knot export or a knot collection, you are technically purchasing it from Paddle, who acts as the authorized reseller of our products.

• We do not collect, process, or store your credit card information.
• All payment processing, billing details, and fraud prevention are handled securely by Paddle through their checkout overlay.
• Paddle will collect the necessary information (such as your email and payment details) to process the transaction, deliver your files, and comply with global tax laws.

3. Cookies and Analytics

We do not use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising cookies.

Our website is hosted on Netlify. To ensure the site runs securely and to give us basic, anonymized traffic statistics (like total page views or which country our visitors are from), Netlify collects standard server log data. This data includes your IP address, browser type, and time of visit, which Netlify temporarily stores for up to 30 days for operational and security purposes. This analytics process does not use tracking cookies or identify you personally.

Note: When you open the Paddle checkout overlay to make a purchase, Paddle may use necessary session cookies to securely process your transaction.

4. Data Retention

Because we do not use databases or user accounts, we do not retain your personal data. Any customized knot files you create exist only in your browser until you download them. For store purchases, your download links and files are handled and delivered directly via the checkout process. The only records of your visit to our site are the anonymized server logs mentioned above, and the transaction receipt securely stored by Paddle for legal and tax compliance.

5. Your Rights

Under global privacy laws (such as GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Because we do not store your personal data, any requests regarding payment or transaction data must be directed to Paddle, our Merchant of Record, who holds that information.
